Congratulations Your Majesty: A message from our friends at The Goring

We wanted to send you greetings from The Goring. This weekend it feels like London will be the centre of the world – there is such excitement and feverish preparations.

Here at the hotel we have the bunting out alongside all the Union Jacks. All the flowers have been planted white like diamonds! The balcony is strung with thousands of twinkling lights so at night it shimmers like a million little diamonds.

Earlier this week we sent The Queen our present which was an amazing copy of the Imperial State Crown made of sugar with hundreds of sugar diamonds. It sits on the most glorious red and gold cushion resplendent with tassels which is actually a rich fruit cake – a favourite of Her majesty.

We hop eyou will raise a glass this weekend to The Queen. She has had an amazing reign serving her country and the Commonwealth faultlessly. This weekend will see the River Pageant, The Concert and of course The Service of Thanksgiving at St Pauls. What a spectacle. We will most certainly be raising a glass of two.
